Where to buy music

Roots 'n Rhythm
If you love blues, country, old rock 'n' roll, R&B etc this is hands-down the best place to buy re-issue CDs. These guys have a great selection, good prices and, best of all, they have expert, honest reveiws of almost everything. A must.

Phonographs & Record Players

Garage-A-Records
Features an astounding catalogue of needles and cartridges for every kind of turntable. They also have other parts and state-of-the-art turntables for 78s

The Phonograph Ring
A gateway to dozens of sites about every aspect of phonographs.

78 RPM

The 78 RPM Homepage
A great resource for 78 collectors.

Glen's Hot Dance Band Site
A well done hobby site that features MP3 downloads of vintage music.

Vinyl

The Vinyl Tourist
Good site from a New York City collector who gets around. Lots of resources

Compact Discs

CD Database
Another gateway to a lot of stuff about CDs.

Both Sides Now Publications
All about oldies on CD.

Radio
JAZZ.FM 91
Toronto's all-jazz radio (finally). On the web at www.jazz.fm (what a great url) or on the air at 91.1 FM. Also available on cable or satelite across Canada.

Pirate Radio
Includes kits and instructions for building your own radio transmitter, for educational purpopses only of course.

Partners

These sites have linked back to us or do business with us in some way which makes them really cool.

Canadian Antique Phonograph Society
On-line version of their interesting newsletter.

Austin Record Shows
The biggest record show around.

Web Resources

As I'm sure you can see, this site is a home made effort. That is possible largely because of the huge number of resources out there offering free software and/or tutorials.

Tucows
The best place to look for free, or really cheap, software. As with Roots & Rhythm, they have honest reviews

Arachnoid
Arachnophilia is a free HTML editor, used to make this site (for the web, get it?). It's not one of those drag-and-drop on-screen things that don't work, you have to learn the rudements of HTML, but it's worth the effort.

Matt's Script Archive
Free scripts for interactive forms, link databases and bulletin boards.

The Free Site
A gateway to all kinds of free graphics, software and tools.
